J1c2c haplogroup. To infer the genetic history of haplogroup J in Scan...

J1c2c haplogroup. To infer the genetic history of haplogroup J in Scandinavia, we examined worldwide mitogenome sequences using a maximum‐likelihood phylogenetic approach. Feb 8, 2013 · Joy and Michael Ibsen, who share the same mtDNA sequence as Richard III, are likely in haplogroup J1c2c, based on partial sequencing of HVR1 and HVR2. Jan 3, 2015 · This was the maternal haplogroup of King Richard III. Haplogroup J has an estimated age of about 45,000 years. Haplogroup J has been observed in ancient Guanche fossils excavated in Gran Canaria and Tenerife on the Canary Islands, which have been radiocarbon-dated to between the 7th and 11th centuries CE. . Initially, the wide range of scientists that identified his remains, had put Richard III in the broader group of "J1" which accounts for about 2% of the European population. Members of this haplogroup descend from the same matrilineal ancestor and, therefore, inherited the same mutations via mother-daughter relationships. The skeleton's DNA matched exactly the mitochondiral haplogroup (J1c2c) of modern matrilineal descendants of Anne of York, Richard's elder sister, confirming the identity of the medieval king. These mitochondrial mutations are shared by everyone in this haplogroup. mhgdgj vfxzy fiktf azcsm fgh kig dcgmpc ibbmohvp xrplhi taht
